From the eyes of a Coward

At first glance, I saw beauty. Too glorious, I can’t even touch. Too huge to own. Too promising to be true. Too much for a nonamer. Yet I desired. I wanted it to be mine. The more I stare, the more I discover its value. Too precious I can say it’s priceless. No way this can be mine.

“We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” Numbers 13:31

What if it’s not for me? What if I start to act then in the middle of the process, lose passion, hope, and courage to continue? What if things don’t work right? What if all preparations and efforts aren’t enough?

What if I am not enough?

What if I fail? Why don’t I just stop? Wait, what? Stop?

“I will give to you and your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:8

What if I make it? What if all preparations, despite imperfections, are all worth the effort? What if the fears that paralyze me aren’t true? What if I fail, then learn? What if I am enough? What if there’s no need to understand it all now ’cause someday it will all make sense? What if this is my refining process

What if I can? What if I am not alone? What if there’s someone out there who’ll extend their hand?

What if we can?

We can mess up, mourn, then get up. We can fail, learn, then try again. We can by childishness, hurt others but then grow up afterward. Gain wisdom, forgive self then learn to eat the bittersweet taste of maturity.

“Let’s Go at once to take the land,” he said. “WE can certainly conquer it.” Numbers 13:30

CERTAINLY! We will if we remind ourselves whom we fight our battles with.

Deuteronomy 20:4

Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord, YOUR God is going WITH you! HE WILL fight for you against your enemies, He will give you victory!

From my eyes, a coward, I see failures, endless disappointments, worthless peer pressures, and pains.

From the eyes of Jesus, I see Victory.
