A phrase that refers to the Celtic concept of the “soul friend” in religion and spirituality. The phrase is an anglicization of the Irish word anamchara, anam meaning “soul” and cara meaning “friend”.

The sun shines so bright
I came out to feel the sunlight
But the cloud in my head is so dark
Can see it’s bright, can’t feel its warmth

Like usual, life has to start
Breakfast, wash, go and run for a life
Act like everything’s fine
As if the mind is not filled with doubts

Living, yet gaining only distress
I’m stunned when one patted my head,
Oh, why it’s giving me rest?
Why didn’t I protest?

To my surprise, it was from a man
It was from that man,
who for so long was never my guest
I wonder if he can understand the reason why I’m depressed?

Fear rushed and it was ready to kill
Whispering every detail that makes me so ill
But I remember him saying it so real
“I won’t let you go. I never will.”

Anxiety lingers in my memory
But the thought of him melts my fearful heart so calmly
As if he’s holding me still, he’s holding me so gently
Slowly I can hear, every sound a beautiful glee
